Rising Sun Pictures at the 2025 Visual Effects Celebration

In early November 2025, Rising Sun Pictures was proud to take part in the annual Visual Effects Celebration, hosted by the University of South Australia. The event brought together teachers, career counsellors, students, and industry professionals for an evening recognising the global VFX industry.

The event featured speakers from several of the world’s leading VFX studios, giving attendees a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artists and leaders shaping some of the industry’s most acclaimed work.

Representing RSP, Phil Barrenger, Head of Operations, spoke about the studio and highlighted how RSP continues to deliver high‑quality visual effects for globally recognised film and series projects in a rapidly evolving industry.

Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about studying VFX through Adelaide University (formerly UniSA) and Rising Sun Pictures. Anna Hodge, Manager of Training and Education, shared insights into the structure of the programs, the embedded real‑world experience students receive, and the impressive outcomes achieved by graduates now working across the globe.

Guests were invited to connect with local, interstate, and international professionals, gaining insight into the realities of working in visual effects and exploring the exciting projects being produced right here in Adelaide. The event offered a valuable look at the broader VFX landscape and the opportunities emerging within South Australia’s creative‑tech sector.
